Cocoa Exporter Africa
Cocoa beans are the dried and fermented seeds of the cocoa plant called Theobroma Cocoa meaning food of the Gods. These hand-selected cocoa beans are used in chocolate making and offer extraordinary richness and depth of flavor. Cocoa is mass-produced in tropical regions around the Equator, as the hot and humid climate is well suited for its growth. 70% of the world’s cocoa beans come from West African countries, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon. These are followed by other cocoa producing countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Haiti, Colombia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Madagascar, and Ecuador.
Cocoa beans have a dark rich chocolate flavor and apart from its use in chocolate making, the powdered form is used extensively in baking cakes, cookies, and other delicacies. There are endless ways to enjoy cocoa beans. You can mix them in a trail mix for a boost of healthy chocolate goodness, crumble raw cocoa beans over yogurt, ice cream or pudding, make rich homemade chocolate from scratch, and you could blend cocoa beans with frozen bananas and milk for a nice smoothie.
Cocoa beans are an antioxidant powerhouse as they have flavanols which lower the blood pressure, improve blood flow, and fight cell damage. Cocoa beans are also a rich source of iron, magnesium, calcium, and fiber.
